Dave Hamilton is a multi-award winning songwriter with the West Coast Songwriters Association. In 2017 and 2018 he won the Norbay Music award having been voted best singer/songwriter of the year.in the Northbay Bohemian and Pacific Sun weekly journals. Dave plays mostly in the Folk/Americana genres with a bit of country, bluegrass, ragtime and acoustic blues. He plays numerous venues throughout the San Francisco North Bay mixing his originals with covers of some of his favorite songwriters such Bob Dylan, John Prine, Jesse Winchester, Townes Van Zandt, Mississippi John Hurt, Gordon Lightfoot, Tom Russell and many others. He plays, solo, as a duo, as a trio and occasionally, a quartet. He has released two previous CD's, "Back Roads of My Mind" in 2008 and "Thinking About Time" in 2012. This is Dave Hamilton's second CD release. (following "Back Roads of my Mind" in 2008). In this CD Dave Hamilton once again incorporates original songs with songs from some of his most respected songwriters. The list includes Tom Russell, Tom Mitchell, Tom Waits, U. Utah Phillips, and Hugh Shacklett. The essence of time figures prominently in this project as we move forward from the past with a couple of original historical ballads, "Choctaw Trail of Tears" and "Shooting Star", to compositions that relate to the present, ending with "Thinking About Time", the title track. This CD was recorded and produced by Michael Lindner at Alleyonemusic Studio, Healdsburg, CA.

Since 1994 he has been playing in an acoustic band called "The Sonoma Mountain Band" as one of its founding members whose songs include folk, bluegrass, and acoustic blues.
